owning a house abroad

Skrivet av Eva,NZ moving back to SWE
Hi,

Is there anyone here that owns a house outside of Sweden ? Is it a big hassel taxwise ?

We're going back to Sweden for 18 months and we're keeping our house in New Zealand. Do I need to tell RSV about my house and the income we're making from letting it out ? I'm paying tax for it here in NZ. But I've heard that I will have to pay huge tax for the ownership in Sweden as well ?!?!?!

Advice is welcome !

I think...

...the general rule is that yous should never have to pay tax in more than one country!
You'd better check though, as I'm not sure (who can ever be sure about Swe taxation rules...) I'd love to know the result, as we may well be in the same situation soon!

If your still have loans on your house, I wouldn't say anything to the Taxation Office. The rent is your mortgaged.

Yes

Sorry to say: Yes, you have to tax for your NZ house (house tax). And even more sorry: You have to pay tax if the house brings up your welth/income (welth tax).
And if you _eart_ money on the letting = income = tax.

But if RSV not know about the house.... then you don't have any trouble :o)
